Autism Teaching Assistant job opportunity in Walthamstow

SEN School are looking for TA experienced in Autism to provide support to pupils in Walthamstow

The school work with pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). Pupils also have complex learning needs and all learners have a statement of special educational need.

Pupils with Autism

  • Experience difficulty in understanding non-verbal and verbal communication
  • Struggle to have the ability to understand social behaviour which impacts their interaction with children and adults

Job attributes

  • Experience in working with children suffering from autism
  • Experience working in an SEN school setting, youth experience will also be considered
  • Flexible availability
  • Helping teachers with managing classroom disruptions
  • Working 1:1 with pupils and providing support as well as encouragement towards their learning

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
