Autism TA - Key Stage 2 - Haringey

Job description

A mainstream Primary school located in Tottenham, Haringey is looking to recruit a proactive and engaging Learning Support Assistant to support a child diagnosed with Autism, in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6). The role involves supporting the child with topics within the National Curriculum, as well as social interaction with peers and staff.

The school has been rated as 'Good' in their latest OFSTED inspection, and is a short bus journey from Tottenham Hale station.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience, voluntary or paid, working with adults/children diagnosed with Autism
  • Have a good understanding of numeracy and literacy
  • Be able to build strong rapport with children and staff
  • Have a child workforce DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
  • Be highly motivated, enthusiastic and be willing to learn and develop new skills
  • Be keen to work as part of a team and have good communication skills
  • Be committed to promoting the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring equal opportunities to learn and develop.
