Young Person Education Support

Location: Nelson (BB9) 

Pay: £12.82 - £13.55 hourly (before AWR comes into effect) 

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm / Monday – Friday

Start date: September 2024

We are seeking compassionate, proactive support workers to join our team in helping young people to access the school curriculum and wider world. The successful candidate will provide support and guidance for pupils with ASD and associated learning and communication needs. The school strives to equip pupils with skills and knowledge to give them the best opportunity for success in life. This is a career for someone who is looking for an opportunity to shape the next generation and understands the challenges these young people might be facing.

Your role will be classroom based, assisting the class teacher with day-to-day routines, delivering interventions as guided and adapting to each child’s individual needs each day.

We will support you with:

  • Offering relevant training, including autism awareness and Team-Teach
  • Ensuring we find the right setting to suit your skills and location
  • Ongoing support from your consultant throughout the vetting checks and applying for a DBS!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
