Job description

Teaching assistant required to work in primary school for children with autism in Purley.

This lovely special needs school caters for children who have moderate learning difficulties - the most common diagnosis is autism.

Your role will be to support the children in a key stage 2 class. This is a full time role commencing after the Easter break and will run until at least July. There may be potential to continue in September if you are well suited to the school and the role.

This role would suit you if you have the following:

  • Full time availability from 23rd April 2019, term time only
  • Experience supporting children with autism and associated challenging behaviour
  • A psychology background
  • Training in de-escalation techniques, Team Teach, understanding mental health or similar
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm at all times

You must have a child workforce DBS registered to the update service. If you do not have one, you must be willing to apply for a new certificate.
