Autism Teaching Assistant required for "Good" Primary School in Salford, M5.

  • Experience of working with Autism (ASC)
  • Ability to work with Autistic children, traits of Autism and mechanisms to engage and include children.
  • Working with a pupil who sometimes displays challenging behaviours

A "good" primary school in Salford are looking to recruit a 1:1 ASC teaching assistant to work with a year 3 pupil with Autism starting as soon as possible for the rest of the academic year.

This role requires someone who has experience of working with children with ASC, whether it's on the verbal or non verbal spectrum. This is a great place to work, with a friendly environment and a hard-working team ethic. This is a great opportunity and one which could lead to a school's permanent contract.

The Role:

The pupil in question is due to start in this Salford school in the next few weeks and the headteacher is keen to add another member of staff to support them. The pupil is diagnosed with high functioning Autism. He has a very natural Maths intelligence but very low ability in English and Writing, which he can become frustrated with when working. He has been know to have challenging behaviour when frustrated. The school a re keen to see profiles of Teaching Assistants who have worked with ASC and/or challenging behaviours.
