Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an 'Outstanding' SEND school in Richmond who are seeking a support assistant to work on a part time basis with students with Autism, commencing as soon as possible.

The role will involve working work Key Stage 3 and 4 students who have Autism ranging from moderate to severe. The main aspect of the role will be helping the children to engage with their learning and supporting the class teacher as well as encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour in lesson time.

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with Autism; however the client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth or social work. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and have a strong desire to work with SEND. You may also benefit from a Teaching Assistant qualification in this role, or have a graduate degree.

You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds through your application process and placement within this role. Teaching Personnel can offer support assistant's competitive pay rates of up to £65 per day, three days per week.
