Job description

We are currently recruiting experienced teaching/learning support assistants with an Autistic specialism, to work in a range of different ALN (Additional Learning Needs) schools throughout the Dorset area. We currently have a wide range of exciting positions available on either a day-to-day or long-term supply basis, across the different key stages.

As these roles involve working with pupils on the Autistic spectrum, typically with challenging behaviours and complex needs, previous experience of working with pupils in ALN settings is ideal but not essential.

For this role, you will ideally need to be able to work either part or full-time and have previous experience working with children, or young adults, with Autism and complex needs. Successful candidates will need to have confidence dealing with pupils with different abilities and ALN requirements or personal care, a good knowledge of the national curriculum or confident in supporting small groups and capable of dealing with challenging behaviours, promoting focus with strong classroom management and ongoing one to one support where necessary.
