Teaching Personnel are looking to fill 3 open vacancies at a School located in Nelson (BB9). The vacancies are in EYFS, KS1 and KS2. The school has recently been graded as GOOD by Ofsted and the Head teacher is striving for OUTSTANDING. She is therefore looking to surround herself by practitioners who are committed and enthusiastic about raising standards in her school and improving behaviour. The school is looking for up to three additional Support Assistants to start as soon as possible. The School requires ideally individuals with specialist SEN knowledge, in particular Autism Specialists. This knowledge may be from working within education, care or from personal experience.

Start date: September 2023 

Contract type: Temporary to permanent position

Pay rate: £11.85 - £12.55 per hour (AWR will come into effect after 12 working weeks)

The school require staff on short-term and long-term contracts which could be either on a full-time or a part-time basis. The school endeavour to provide creative experiences through a broad, varied and enriched curriculum tailored to their particular needs. The children will follow the National Curriculum however may be working at a lower level and may be out of the class room. The school make lessons as interesting and hands on as possible to engage previous reluctant learners.

You will be required to:

  • Support pupils throughout the school day
  • Incorporate the use of senses into learning
  • Help pupils to support their speech, language, and communication
  • Consider the choices, needs and wishes of each pupils and encourage them to make the right choices for learning

The school require nurturing individuals which can make a positive impact on the pupils at the school. The perfect applicants should be empathetic, an excellent communicator and compassionate. They should help support the needs of each individual pupil and want to help them to achieve their goal. The school will consider applications from individuals who have previous experience supporting people with SEND, have previous care experience or those willing to do training upon the subject.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
