Autism specialist Teaching Assistant

We are currently looking for an organised, hard working individual who is interested in working as an Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. You will be working 1:1 with children and young adults who require extra support through learning, whether this is mental, physical or emotional needs.

The school caters for students who have statements of special educational needs and Education, Health and Care plans, as complex support was identified as their primary need; spectrum conditions, speech, language and communication difficulties, ADHD, opposition defiance, medical conditions and attachment disorders.

Here at Teaching Personnel we will be able to offer you a wide range of opportunities from long term work to short term, as well as helping you find work on a permanent basis. Our current teaching assistants work in a variety of roles in various schools around the area. We work closely with a range of SEN schools as well as pupil referral units and alternative provisions. All schools we work with are able to provide you with a friendly and supportive environment.

Minimum requirement:

  • GCSE English and Maths (A-C)
  • Previous experience working with special educational needs/learning difficulties (professionally or personally)
  • Able to commute to Winchester
