Autism Primary Teacher job in West London - Hayes

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a National Autistic Society accredited primary SEN school in Hayes, West London (rated 'Good' by Ofsted) who are seeking autism primary Teachers to teach in EYFS, KS1 or KS2 classes.

This role is for a fixed academic year and after completing the academic year you will then be given opportunities to go on permanent contract the school.

The role is for a primary class teaching pupils of up to 8 pupils one-to-one, in small groups and generally with autism, ADHD, complex needs and behavioural difficulties. This school recognises the importance of individualised learning to ensure all pupils are able to achieve their very best.

With a range of opportunities, training and career progression within this highly accredited school this is a great place to teach, develop and work as part of a fun and amazing team. These posts are for an immediate or September 2018 start and will span until end of academic year in July 2019 with the opportunity for a permanent contract in the summer.

Primary Autism Teacher:

  • Classes of up to 8 pupils with a minimum of 2 additional support staff
  • 85% of pupils within school on the autism spectrum
  • Teaching primary pupils with individual learning plans - Maths, English, Science and Technology, Language and Communication with PE/PSHE
  • Teaching students with Individual Behaviour plans where required with focus on positive behaviour management - devised with multi-agency, in-house specialists, parents and SLT
  • Teaching pupils in class and supporting pupils across the school and out of class at break times
  • Full time Monday to Friday term time only - 8.30am -4.30pm (non-negotiable)
  • Permanent contracts will be released to internal supply staff July 2019

Requirements:

  • Fully Qualified Teacher status, Newly Qualified Teacher status, QTS or oversees teacher training with UK Naric
  • Previous experience teaching autism and additional special needs and/or proven interest teaching autism , ADHD and social difficulties
  • UK education or UK non-educational SEN environments experience
  • Live local to the borough of Hillingdon and able to travel to Hayes daily
  • Be able to provide a minimum of two teaching based reference contact details
