Job description

SEN teaching assistant required in South Croydon primary special needs school.

  • Full time, on an ongoing basis
  • £55-£65 per day, dependent on experience
  • Start date: Monday 25th February 2019

This school was last inspected by Ofsted in Autumn 2017 and was described as 'continuing to provide a good quality of education' and 'behaviour is good because staff meet students' individual needs'.

The role available:

  • You will work in a key stage 2 class, in a team of 4 teaching assistants and a teacher
  • You will provide 1:1 support for 9 children, all diagnosed with non-verbal autism and down syndrome
  • You will be eligible to take part in a full induction programme for new staff
  • The school welcomes applications from candidates with a background in SEN, childcare, social care, Psychology, Sociology or behaviour management
  • You will be a member of a large staff team - the senior leadership team is supportive and welcoming of agency staff members
  • It would be beneficial if you can use, or have knowledge of PECs and Makaton, as you will use these on a daily basis
