We are seeking a reliable and pro-active Year 1 Teaching assistant who can provide one to one support to a year 1 pupil who is currently undergoing the first stages of their Education, health care plan. The pupil is portraying traits of ASC (Autism), a short attention spam and finding it very difficult to listen and follow instructions whilst integrated into the full class, the school have expressed that the pupil prefers to be in control of situations and struggles to take direction straight away.
As a 1:1 teaching assistant, you will be supporting the teacher by ensuring the year 1 pupil fully understands the instructions of the work and is able to access the curriculum at a suitable level.
The role would in initially be part time but working on a development basis, the child currently attends school part time with a view to be attending full time in the future.

This primary school located in Toxteth, Liverpool, L8, has new excellent facilities and is warm and welcoming from the moment you enter. The school has a supportive and very approachable atmosphere and the Head teacher believes in continual professional development, sending staff on various training courses to enable all staff to develop their careers further.
The child can be physically and verbally aggressive so someone with experience of this would work well here. Being Team Teach or Moving & Handling trained would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
