Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit ASD experienced Teaching Assistants to work closely with a specialist client school based in Newport. The students that attend the client school may be diagnosed with autism or co-existing conditions including ADHD, learning difficulties, anxiety, Tourette's syndrome, epilepsy and or challenging behaviour. The school is run by a successful team of supporting staff that are more than happy to help out when they can. Candidates may be asked to work either in small groups or on a one to one basis keeping pupils engaged and on task to meet their learning aims and objectives. The times candidates are expected to work are between 8:30-3:30. We offer a competitive rate of pay ranging from £50.44-£60.00 a day along with other additional benefits.

The Ideal Candidates Will:

  • Have experience working with autistic pupils
  • Have a great understanding of autism
  • Be confident in engaging pupils
  • Show great resilience
  • Have proven patience when dealing with an escalating situation
  • Have great behaviour management skills
  • Team Teach Trained (desirable)

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
