ASC Teaching Assistant - Wigan

Teaching Personnel are working with a number of secondary schools across the Wigan LEA to provide them with Teaching Assistants who have experience supporting individuals with identified needs.

We are currently working with schools who are in need of ASC Teaching Assistants on both a full and part-time basis, with immediate starting dates available that run for the remainder of the academic year.

  • ASC Teaching Assistant - Full and part-time positions
  • Temporary posts with strong possibilities of further employment in the next academic year
  • Daily pay rate between £54 and £70 - Paid weekly in arrears
  • Working within a number of supportive secondary schools in Wigan

The ideal candidate will have experience within an SEND environment, whether in a classroom or in other provisions, in particular our client school would like the ideal candidate to have experience working with students with Autism. A patient and caring attitude will be highly beneficial in this role, and excellent behaviour management skills will be advantageous.

ASC Teaching Assistant Roles and Responsibilities;

  • Supporting the needs of the identified individual that you are tasked to work alongside
  • Monitoring behaviour and attainment levels and supporting the class teacher when needed.
  • Ensuring that students make steady progression within school
  • Identifying and defusing a stressful situation before it occurs.
