ASC Teaching Assistant required - Level 2

Job description

A 'Good' Primary school located within the Sherborne area is currently looking to appoint an experienced, hardworking Teaching Assistant to join their happy, successful school. As part of the role you will be supporting a child with autism in their KS1 setting. The child requires someone who is able to provide consistency and is reliable. The child can exhibit challenging behaviour at times and does struggle to intergrate socially and emotionally. Therefore the school is looking to appoint someone who can taking a nurturing, caring and patient approach, in order to build a positive relationship, discovering key interests and areas that could be used as motivation, which currently the child responds well to 'now and then' situations.

A successful applicant should:

  • Be flexible
  • Be enthusiastic
  • Be passionate
  • Have strong communication skills and be able to wok as part of a team
  • Have expectations of what children can achieve and share an ambition, ensuring the very best of children and their families.
  • Have effective behaviour management techniques, been able to avoid and deescalate confrontational situations.
  • Preferably Team Teach trained
  • Have relevant of where you have supported ASC pupils
