Job description

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a couple of Teaching Assistants for a fantastic school in Shirehampton who is experienced in supporting students with autism and severe learning difficulties,which is due to commence in September 2018. These roles are initially temporary with the possibility of it leading to a permanent contract for the suitable applicants.

Ideally applicants would have experience with ASC and severe learning difficulties (SLD) in a SEN school setting from KS2 - KS3. Additional qualifications such as Team Teach and Autism Awareness is desired but not mandatory. We would also welcome applicants with relevant transferable skills such as Youth Workers or Support Workers as well as recent graduates.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 6 months experience supporting students with ASC and SLD in a mainstream or SEN setting between KS2 - KS3
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and an understanding of de-escalation
  • NCFE/CACHE Level 2 Supporting and Learning in School
  • Patient and nurturing mannerism

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
