A trust of our secondary schools located in the Nottinghamshire area have recently approached Teaching Personnel looking to recruit specialist teaching assistants with experience with autism to support.

The role offers a varied and ever changing environment in which members of staff work flexibly to support vulnerable students on the autistic spectrum and who have emotional, social and mental health difficulties. The role is full-time with the offer of a permanent contract for those who excel in post.

Those who have experience in the following areas would be of particular interest:

• Youth work

• Support work & residential care

• Learning mentor in secondary environment

• Experience with autistic students

• Graduates from relevant disciplines (Psychology, Sociology)

The primary function of this post is to work collaboratively with the team supporting students in developing students confidence, self-esteem, increasing school participation and to generally cultivate greater aspirations to achieve, not only in education but in the their lives as a whole.
