TA required for Year 6 class in an Autism Provision in Tilehurst

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a teaching assistant to work with a year 6 class within a specialist Autistic Provision in the Tilehurst area. The school caters for students aged 4-19 years old with Autistic Spectrum Conditions including Aspergers Syndrome. All the classes are small and operate in well equipped classrooms that allow for all students to learn in a positive, safe and welcoming environment. Although this position is working with year 6 students, the school are open to applications from TA’s looking to work with other age groups as are there a number of other roles becoming available in the near future.

The successful person will be someone with a confident yet calming personality and someone who is willing to get involved with engaging all students with both the curriculum and their social progression. Although previous experience in a similar setting would be beneficial, someone who has general childcare experience, a psychology degree or other relevant experience or training would be considered. You will need to be willing to work with students on a 1:1 basis or within small groups.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
