Specialist School in Welwyn Garden City looking for Specialist staff

  • Are you able to make a difference in a small Specialist School helping and supporting pupils from 2 – 19 years of age?
  • Have you got experience working with pupils with Autism, Profound and multiple learning difficulties and hearing and visual impairments?

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a specialist staff who will be suited to working in a School of approximately 70 pupils with children as young as 2 and as old as 19. This particular School has received 4 ofsted outstanding results, one of which stated: ‘Teaching is exceptional. Teachers and learning support workers operate as one to make sure the best possible outcomes for the pupils are achieved’ (Ofsted 2013). The schools ethos is very high and naturally seek to employ staff who are dedicated to making a difference and helping those who need are support most.

The perfect candidate (but perhaps not essential) will have experience working with the pupils with Pro found and multiple learning difficulties, Autism and hearing and visual impairments.

Recently this school has taken the Herts Step behaviour management programme to support pupils in this area so naturally if you have experience in this area and or working with SEMH pupils and have skills in manging difficult and challenging behaviour then that could be very beneficial to his role.

The School implements the MOVE programme so as to help pupils with physical disabilities and if you have experience or training in this area then this role could allow you to exercise those skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
