My client, a non-residential specialist education college for students aged 16 to 25 years with disabilities, complex needs and autism, are recruiting Learning Support Assistants for long term work - permanent contracts also available for the right candidates.
They moved to purpose built, state of the art facilities in East Manchester in September 2012. Students enjoy a wide range of sessions and activities to promote their learning and independence. Their mission is to create a learning environment that is inclusive and will help students make a successful transition to adulthood through developing their skills, independence and confidence.
Hours of work are 8.30am - 4pm. You are also often required to stay until 5 pm on a Monday for an hour of training - they allow you to attend these sessions for free along with permanent staff members.
Many students require assistance with personal care - you must be prepared to assist with this, and you will not be considered for the role otherwise.
Qualifications are not essential, however you must possess excellent communication skills and be able to use your initiative.
