Learning Support Assistant required for SEN School in Ilford

  • Do you have a valid Team Teach certificate?
  • Do you have experience in developing and implementing Positive Handling Plans (PHP)?
  • Are you passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs?

Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant, possessing valid Team-Teach training, to work within a specialist SEN school in Ilford, Essex. The school provides a rich and varied curriculum for pupils aged 2-19 with a wide range of Special Educational Needs. Situated in North Leeds, the school is easily accessible by public transport and is just a 30 minute drive from the city centre.

You will possess a valid Team-Teach certificate and have prior experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs in an education, or care setting. You will have a working knowledge of meeting the social, emotional and mental health needs of young people and will have experience in the planning, development and implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and of Positive Handling Plans (PHP).

You will have a holistic approach to teaching and learning with the ability to build positive working relationships with both staff and pupils. You will work closely with your colleagues to plan and deliver high quality sessions designed to encourage positive interaction and raise self esteem. You will have the ability to promote good practice in a professional and inclusive manner.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
