• Main School hours are 8:30 am – 4:00pm

• Two school sites - PMLD and ASC with state of the art facilities and resources

This ‘Good’ School based in Tower Hamlets are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to support in their ASC site. The schools students include those with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties. A significant number of these pupils have additional needs identified on the autistic spectrum, some with challenging behaviours and others with additional physical disabilities and complex medical conditions.

What will I be doing in this role and what will be expected of me?

• You will be supporting a teacher in a class of 20-30

• You will be expected to lead a class if class teacher is not present

• You will be working closely with the class teacher assisting in tracking and accessing pupil progress

• You will be expected to assist in personal care

• You may be expected to plan/prepare lessons

• You may be expected to accompany and assist the pupils with swimming/sports weekly

• QTS or HLTA status

• Experience leading a class of students

• Experience supporting children with ASC, learning difficulties and SEMH

• Behaviour management experience

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
