Job description

Autistic Specialist School In Sturminster - Primary Students. Small Group & 1-1 Work.

My colleague and I are working with a client school in Sturminster, Dorset. They are hoping to recruit 2 new teaching assistants to work with students that are on the Autistic spectrum. The variation across the spectrum is large so experience within this area is vital. We need to make sure the appointed member of staff is comfortable and aware of the beahvioural issues and other affects that Autism can have on the students and their access to learning.

Beneficial course to have completed are: Understanding Autism, Autism Awareness & Supporting SEN.

The appointed candidate must be flexible and be aware that the role can entail anything from supporting in class to visits offsite to farms, colleges and other schools. The role is term time only and full time form 8.30 - 3.30.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
