1:1 ASC Support Assistant, Manchester M15

  • ASC specialist work with the potential of moving up through the school with the child(ren).
  • Working with a skilled SEN Team.
  • Opportunity to work within an exciting EYFS unit and developing KS1 Unit.

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to take up a long term position within a mainstream school in Central Manchester. This is an above average sized Primary School, catering for children aged (4-11) with a great staff team, welcoming opportunities within their classrooms and several opportunities for CPD.

The position is working 1:1 with 2 children showing traits of ASC on the non verbal spectrum. You would be focusing on the children almost entirely. In particular – accessing the curriculum and following up on the teacher’s main inputs.

The ideal person will have experience of working with children on the non-verbal side of things, including using PECS and lots of visual aids where possible. They should have lots of patience but the ability to be 'firm' and consistent.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
