Job description

Teaching Personnel are currently partnered with a school in the heart of Sheffield who are looking to recruit for a September start. They are looking for a specialist Teaching Assistant on a full time basis who has experience in supporting young people who have Autism (ASC).

As a Teaching Assistant you would be required to support the pupils in the classroom, helping them concentrate on work and making sure that noise levels are kept to a minimum. The successful applicant will have experience of working with Autism from the ages of 11-16.

The school is graded Ofsted 'Good' and caters for pupils with various difficulties and challenging behaviours. A large number of the pupils suffer from Autistic spectrum condition, which requires the school to have work in small class rooms with a number of experienced staff, and have numerous sensory rooms.

Desirable skills and qualifications that might help the Teaching Assistants are considered for the role:

  • Previous Experience in a school
  • Previous Experience in similar settings
  • Autism Awareness
  • Team-Teach Training
  • Use of PEC's

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
