English Graduate Teaching Assistant

English Graduate Teaching Assistant needed for partner school in Manchester City Centre, the role starts October 2023 for the full academic year.

Our client is an Ofsted good school, the teachers have great subject knowledge and are very supportive of students both in class and in an extracurricular capacity. The students are tolerant and accepting, always working hard in class with many participating in charity work for the local community run by the school.

Some key information about the role:

• Earn between £385 - £485 per week, depending on experience.
• Gain experience working in a good Ofsted school.
• Work with a good, experienced faculty staff.

The school is looking for someone enthusiastic about teaching English to young people, showing them the value of language and how it can be used. One of our client school’s objectives is to ensure any student with additional learning needs achieves their potential academically. The successful applicant will work with students with SEN requirements, these could be a range of needs such as Autism, ADHD, OCD or Dyslexia to list a few examples. These could be in a classroom setting, 1:1 or in a small group.

Some skills and attributes our client is looking for:

• Adaptability. It’s important for a teacher to be able to adapt to their situation, people have various ways of learning, it’s your job to differentiate your teaching to ensure students take all they can from your lessons.
• Patience. As mentioned, pupils can have many different methods of learning, so it’s important to give students time to grow into the subject.
• Leadership. It’s important you’re seen as being in charge in and out of the classroom and be a figure of authority for the children.

Some key transport information: Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road are a short walk away, there are many tram stops throughout Manchester and Greater Manchester. There are various bus stops a short walk away from the school with various services running in and out of the city centre. For those who drive there is a secure onsite carpark and the schools has links to the M60 and M62.

There are a variety of CPD courses available for the successful applicant via Teaching Personnel and internally within the school.

Should you be successful, to be considered you must provide a full DBS check and 2 references from former employers, character references are accepted if you have not had 2 employers.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
