KS1 and KS2 SEN Teacher - Oldham - September 2017

An outstanding Multi Academy trust are looking to appoint a specialist Autism Teacher to start from September 2017. The trust runs across 4 sites based in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The Trustees would like to invite applications from energetic and highly motivated teachers with experience of teaching at Key Stages 1 and 2. We would be interested in applicants with experience of supporting children or young people with Autism, SEMH or Special Educational Needs. Successful candidates will be excellent practitioners who relish opportunities to professionally develop and reflect upon their own practice. Applications from committed and enthusiastic NQTs who can demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting SEND pupils and who are looking to work for an organisation which provides opportunities to develop and progress are also welcome.

In support of their application, candidates must also:


•Be able to demonstrate previous experience in a teaching role at Key Stages 1 and/or 2

• Have specific experience / interest in working with pupils with SEND

• Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to inspire pupils’ learning and development

• Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation through imaginative and differentiated lessons which meet individual needs.

• Be able to motivate children and build progress and confidence.

• Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex needs.

• Have experience of implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviour.

• Be hard working, organised and proactive in their professional development

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
