Autism Teacher - September 2017 - Oldham

  • OUTSTANDING Multi Academy Trust require an Autism Teacher
  • Successful Autism Base working with individuals KS1 - KS4
  • Teachers Main Pay Scale + SEN

An outstanding Multi Academy trust are looking to appoint a specialist Autism Teacher to start from September 2017. The trust runs across 4 sites based in Oldham. Sites cater for individuals between 4 - 19 with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The Trustees are seeking to appoint an energetic and highly motivated teacher to join the team working within the Group’s Autistic Spectrum Condition Provision. We would be interested in applicants with experience of supporting children or young people with autism, SEMH or Special Educational Needs within the primary or secondary sector. We would also welcome applications from less experienced people / NQTs who can demonstrate a genuine interest in supporting SEND pupils and who are looking to work for an organisation which provides opportunities to develop and progress.

The successful candidate will:

• Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to inspire pupils’ learning and development

• Have high expectations of young people, including a commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full educational potential

• Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation through imaginative and differentiated lessons which meet individual needs

• Have specific experience / genuine interest in working with pupils with SEND/autism

• Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with challenging young people with a range of complex needs

• Be able to foster good relationships with other staff, pupils, parents and the wider community

• Be hard working, organised and proactive in their professional development

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
