The Role:

  • Working 1:1 with an ASC pupil
  • Creating a engaging and stimulating learning atmosphere
  • Writing weekly reports on the academic progress and mental wellbeing

The School:

The Secondary Department supports pupils between the ages of 11 to 16 years with varying levels of learning needs, social and emotional difficulties and behavioural challenges.

There are currently 10 classes within Secondary; 5 Complex, 3 Highly Structured and 2 Nurture classes. There are between 5-10 pupils in each class, with at least 1 teacher and 1 Teaching Assistant supporting the pupils.

Follow the National Curriculum, which the school adapt and differentiate to meet the pupils' needs. Learning is broken into small steps and targets are personalised to ensure each pupil makes good progress in all subject areas. The school use a range of teaching approaches to meet pupils' needs and to promote independence through active learning.
