Job description

£85-£95 daily on PAYE Scheme - dependant on experience

We are seeking an experienced teaching assistant to support art lessons in a behaviour special provision in Enfield for young people who have emotional, behavioural difficulties. This will be supporting in an 'Outstanding 'school on a full time basis across secondary age pupils from KS3-KS4 in small groups of 8 pupils per session. We are looking for someone who is creative, confident with behaviour management and able to understand and build rapport with young people with complex behaviour needs.

This role is ideal for a teaching assistant who has experience working with behaviour or emotional needs, has an art background and maybe looking to develop into becoming a teacher in future. The school will support with professional development and training for the successful candidate. This post will start immediately from 23rd of April 2019 and will be an ongoing role with the view to be offered a permanent contract. The site is expanding in September 2019 with new young people at KS5 level, so there will be lots of opportunity!

Job specification:

  • Have some art leading experience or taught / delivered art lessons
  • Previous behaviour or mental health experience with young people
  • Able to deliver basic planning of up to 5 art sessions per week
  • Can motivate students and support the emotional needs of young people
  • Higher level teaching assistant experience would be beneficial
  • Art therapy experience is desired
  • Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday during school term time only
  • Able to travel daily to Enfield
