Our client school located in Astley (Greater Manchester) wish to appoint an Art teacher on a part time basis to cover a temporary gap following the Easter break.

This school is a high achieving and well managed Roman Catholic secondary school which has an excellent reputation.

  • Part time Art teacher - April 2018 start
  • Temporary cover 3 days a week (Tues, Thurs and Fri) initially until May half term with possible extension
  • Pay in line with MPS dependant on experience

Due to an absence within their Art department, a rare opportunity has emerged within this high achieving Roman Catholic secondary school. Due to the nature of the absence, the school are currently looking for a competent Art teacher to cover a part time timetable for initially 6 weeks until May half term. There is a possibility that this cover may be extended dependant on the current post holder's absence being extended.

This secondary school falls under the Liverpool Diocese and is a well regarded school which achieves outstanding results. Located on the outskirts of Wigan, the school is easily accessible via the East Lancashire road making the surrounding areas commutable; Bolton, Salford, Trafford, Warrington and St Helens. It is a larger than average with roughly 1100 pupils on roll and numbers increasing year on year due to being oversubscribed. The majority of students are of white british heritage and the proportions of minority ethnic students and of those who speak English as an additional language are below average.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
