Art Teacher Required for Specialist School in Bury

A specialist unit for secondary aged pupils with mental health difficulties based in Bury are seeking to employ an experienced ART teacher on a long term basis. This specialist unit provides a wide range of inpatient mental health services for men and women including a CAMHS provision for adolescents. Security levels range between medium secure to locked rehabilitation and PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) services, so having experience in this setting would be desirable. They are looking for an experienced ART teacher for 2 days a week (Monday and Friday) which could potentially turn into a permanent position.

You will need to:

• Prepare lessons and teaching materials

• Mark and assess work

• Manage class behaviour

• Work with other professionals such as educational psychologists

• Discuss pupils' progress with parents and carers

• Attend meetings and training

• Teach classes of different ages and abilities

• Meeting individual needs and providing the treatment, care and support that people rightly expect and deserve

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
