Are you wishing to pursue a career in teaching Art in the future? Do you have the confidence to lead lessons and support pupils during classes?

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a large comprehensive Secondary school in the Northern region of Newcastle. The school are currently recruiting for a team of Art Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their Art department, on both full time and part time basis.

The position:

  • Full time and Part time Art Graduates required
  • Supporting pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis in the Art department
  • Covering Art lessons with pre-set work in the absence of the class teacher
  • Working directly alongside the Art teachers to develop activities
  • Gain invaluable experience prior to starting PGCE

The school wish to appoint Art Graduate Teaching Assistants with immediate effect in order to implement support in the Art department prior to the examination period. All Art Graduate Teaching Assistant positions will initially be offered on a temporary basis for one term, with the opportunity to gain a fixed term contract following this.

With over 1,000 pupils on roll, the school is significantly larger than average and due to this they are always looking for extra support on both a full and part time basis. Our partner Secondary school can be accessed via public transport.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
