Are you a graduate looking to get into teaching

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a multi academy trust in the Teesside area to recruit a graduate teaching assistant. The school requires an enthusiastic graduate to work as a Teaching Assistant to assist the learning of children aged 11-16 with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The role will start with immediate effect and will be on going for the foreseeable future. The successful candidate must have a flexible approach to their work pattern, which may vary from 1 day per week to 5 days.

The ideal candidate will have experience in engaging disaffected children with low self-esteem who may suffer with some anxiety and/or anger management challenges, however this is not essential. Desired backgrounds include Sports (coaching), Psychology, Youth Work, Art and Design and Music. Additional training such as Team Teach and de-escalation is advantageous but can also be offered through our agency.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level
  • Experience or a keen interest in supporting children with SEN including MLD and SLD
  • A Patient and nurturing manner
  • A passion for working within a specialist SEN settingWhat you can expect:

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
