Alternative Provision - Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching personnel are currently looking for a teaching assistant to work at one of our alternative provisions (AP) in Nottingham centre, NG1.

This AP caters for students aged between 16 to 18 years old, who do not preform well in a mainstream school environment. The students also present with challenging behaviour, and the teaching assistant must feel confident and comfortable to support students and encourage engagement in the classroom.

Role includes:

  • Supporting students in a variety of subjects, up to functional Skills and GCSE level
  • Hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • 7 sessions a day (45 mins each)
  • Class sizes of up to 8 pupils

Experience required:

  • Experience supporting pupils who present with SEMH
  • Knowledge of the KS5 would be benifical
  • Qualification in education would be preffered
  • Experience working within an alternative provosion
  • Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service
  • Able to provide good reference
