Alternative Provision Teacher
South Manchester

Start date: ASAP
Salary in line with MPS/UPS
Contract type: Full-time, Temporary in the first instance

Have you worked in an Alternative Provision? Or do you have transferable experience working with children from difficult backgrounds and are confident building rapport and strong relationships with secondary aged students?

If so, this could be the ideal position for you.

  • Full-time role, February 2019 start

  • Suitable role for individuals with experience of working with students with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
  • Earn up to £600+ per week dependant on experience

Teaching Personnel's client school in South Manchester are looking for a Teacher with excellent behaviour management skills to join their Ofsted 'Good' school on a full-time basis from February 2019. Our client school has been on an amazing journey over the past few years, leading it to be nationally recognised for its continuous improvement. We are looking for a teacher with experience of working with students with emotional or behavioural difficulties, including problems with anger, mental health issues, and school phobia/refusal to support the students at our client school and help them achieve their full potential.

The successful teacher will be responsible for teaching a variety of KS3 and KS4 subjects across a range of age groups and abilities. Teachers from all subject specialisms are welcomed to apply. We are looking for a proactive, flexible and responsive teacher that can build strong relationships with students and encourage disengaged students to engage. The successful teacher will need to be calm and approachable and will be able to anticipate and respond appropriately to any challenging situations that may arise.

Planning and marking will not be involved as all of the work will be pre set by the school. An immediate start is available however an Easter start will also be suitable for the successful applicant.

Our client school is located in Wythenshawe, a short drive from exit 4 on the M56 and easily accessible via Metro links from the city centre and public bus routes. In their most recent Ofsted inspection, the school received 'Good' in all areas including leadership and management, behaviour and safety of pupils, quality of teaching and achievement of pupils.

With an innovative curriculum and high expectations in terms of commitment and hard work, the school strives to ensure that all students can achieve their full potential. The school recognises and prides itself of their inclusive ethos that students regardless of ability, ethnicity, social background, disability, faith, sexuality will succeed at the school.
