Job description

Our Specialist SEN Branch here at Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistants to work in our specialist provisions on day-to-day and/or long-term basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with pupils who have particular learning needs such as autism and will experience of working in an ALN environment. Worried you do not have relevant experience? Do not panic! we take personality and a keen interest in supporting SEN into account when recruiting for this particular role.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be expected to have strong and successful behaviour management strategies, and also be able to follow the schools expectations of behaviour management. This also includes ensuring you are able to use your initiative in situations that may challenge.

Requirements and Skills

  • Enthusiastic approach to new challenges
  • To be able to reflect on teaching and learning
  • Effective communications with staff, pupils and parents
  • Management of learning and teaching of individual pupils, groups and classes
  • The ability to prioritise workload
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
