ADHD support teaching assistant -Bury

  • Bury (M45) primary school
  • £270 - 300 a week!
  • 1:1 SEN support
  • Start date - as soon as possible

A warm and inclusive mainstream primary school in the Bury (M45) area is looking for a teaching assistant to support a child with ADHD in Year 4. The pupil has been struggling to engage in lesson times and has shown challenging behaviour in the class room. The Head teacher is looking for a teaching assistant to support them in the class room and in 1:1 interventions outside the class room raising attainment in English and Maths.

A large part of this role will be engaging with the people and building a bong with them to help raise attainment in the class room. This will involve helping build the child's confidence and developing their social skills whist supporting the teacher to monitor the pupil's behaviour in the class room.

A successful primary school applicant should:

  • Be creative, enthusiastic and engaging
  • Have a strong passion for supporting pupils with SEN
  • Previous experience working with children with challenging needs
  • Be flexible and adaptable

This small Bury primary school is warm and welcoming and promotes an inclusive community ethos. This role will be highly rewarding for the right candidate and staff will be supported by a strong senior leadership and has recently been graded as 'Good' in its latest Ofsted report.

The role will more than likely start on the 4th March and the successful candidate will carry on working with the pupil until the end of the academic year. Due to the nature of the role and the support the pupil needs, there is a possibility of this role carrying on in September.

The Head teacher is looking to see profiles so if this sounds like the role for you, please do not hesitate to email your CV or call Luke at the Manchester West primary branch at 0161 242 1792.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
