Behaviour Specialist Support Assistants required for primary school in Stockport

  • • Support pupils on a one to one basis in an educational setting to raise attainment

Teaching Personnel currently have a number of job opportunities at one of our client schools in the Bredbury area of Stockport. Our client is an ‘Outstanding’ primary school that has easy travel routes via the M60 and A6. The academy has visionary leadership from the Headteacher, a strong support system for its pupils which enables pupils to achieve far beyond national expectations both academically and with their own personal development.

The school currently has a small number of pupils arriving in April that will require a strong role model to enable them to integrate into school life as well as developing personally to go forward and achieve academically. Therefore, Teaching Personnel are currently seeking support assistants with a background in behaviour support to work on a flexible, one-to-one basis to support pupils in specific subject areas. Roles could also involve liaising with both other members of staff and parents, meaning a forward-thinking and calm approach to the role are imperative. The support department within the school has the potential to increase in size from September, meaning permanent roles could become available for the right candidates.

Teaching Personnel work in partnership with a variety of leading, nationally recognised CPD providers, such as National Association of SEN, National Autistic Society, Rush Miskin, Team Teach, Educare, Creative Education, St Patrick’s RC High School and Leeds Trinity University. These partners deliver an extensive range of career developing opportunities to you, covering areas such as; Accredited Team Teach, Understanding and Supporting Children and Adults on the Autism Spectrum, An Introduction to Special Educational Needs and Disability Implications for Challenging Behaviour, Meeting the Emotional, Social and Mental Health Needs of Children and Young People, Prevent Duty, Read Write Inc. and Child Protection in Education.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
