Job description

Due to an upcoming staffing requirement, our client secondary are currently looking for an academic mentor to support and facilitate the learning of their KS3 cohort.

This upcoming requirement has arisen due to a change in the support structure and is initially being offered as a temporary requirement, though this could become a permanent post.

- Full time position as an academic mentor available

- Ofsted graded 'Good' secondary with excellent facilities

- Ideal position for aspiring teachers due to nature of work

- Supporting students across English and Maths mainly

- Competitive daily rates of pay (£55 to £70 per day)

Whilst working as an academic mentor, the successful applicant will work across the learning support department providing support to identified students in both Literacy and Numeracy, particularly those who are behind expected levels in Key Stage 3. The academic mentor will provide support during lessons to students, but will also be responsible for tracking progress and data for key students and liaising with teachers about how best to raise attainment.

Situated on Broadway in Oldham, our client is well established in the community and boasts a new building and state of the art facilities throughout, which have paid dividends in recent examination results. The school serves a rich and diverse catchment area in which there are a large number of students from minority ethnic background on roll, many of whom speak English as an Additional Language so any applicants with experience in this field will be desirable.
