1-1 Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work in our client school.

  • Full and Part Time hours available
  • £60-£70 per day
  • 1-1 Teaching Assistant

The school is a Pupil Referral Unit in Bournemouth, catering for Secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education. This includes pupils who are temporarily excluded, permanently excluded and pupils with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH). The pupils can display challenging behaviour.

As a 1-1 Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for engaging the pupil in their education. Work will be set by the class teacher and you will support the pupil with this. You will also be responsible for behaviour management. Some of our 1-1 Teaching Assistants are required to work off-site with the pupils. This would normally be at a library or learning zone and you would be required to transport the pupil.

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for TA's who are resilient, confident with behaviour management and have a good sense of humour.

Experience working in a school isn't required, we would also welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in Youth Work, Sports Coaching, Military, Custodial Service and Residential Care.

We have full time, part time and ad-hoc hours available.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
