Support Assistant Role - 1:1 role in EYFS

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 3:30)

Salary: GBP9.50 - GBP12.50 per hour

Start date: As soon as possible

End date: Tuesday 21st July 2020 - with a view to being put on a school contract


Teaching Personnel are currently working with a faith primary school and who is seeking additional support for one of their pupils in EYFS. This child started school in September ‘not school ready’ and requires additional support as they have struggled to adapt to the structure and routines within the class. This child has Autistic tendencies and is going through the EHCP process. You would need to have a consistent approach and model the visual aids the school already have in place.

The school has put temporary support in place however the Head Teacher has stated they are looking for someone to start this role as soon as possible. The Head Teacher wants to find an individual who can provide consistency for the child and someone who can commit to the role for the full academic year, with the potential of a school contract in the future. You would be working on a 1:1 basis with the child in the EYFS class; there is an element of personal care with this role as well as supporting them to complete tasks in the classroom environment.

The incoming teaching assistant will enjoy the benefits of working in a one form entry popular Primary School in Rishton. When the pupils join the school in the EYFS stage the levels are usually well below what is typical for their age, however when they leave in Year 6 results are generally significantly above average.

Teachers and teaching assistants who have worked through Teaching Personnel previously have enjoyed working in school because behaviour and attendance is good, in addition the support from senior leaders is constant and evident.


The Support Assistant role:

-          Full time

-          Working in the EYFS class

-          Supporting a child on a 1:1 basis with Autistic tendencies

-          Optional welfare duties
