Job description

A client school in the Gorton are of Manchester (M12) are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 3 child with physical disabilities on a 1:1 basis. The school prides itself on promoting 'respect for each other and the wider community' at all times and is looking for a dedicated, compassionate practitioner who will encourage positivity through out all aspects of school life.

The child would benefit from an enthusiastic support assistant who is able to build supportive relationships whilst encouraging learning. The successful candidate will be expected to work with the child full time, through out lessons and break times to encourage a positive learning experience.

Due to the child's disabilities, they are in a wheel chair full time but are seeing a physio to encourage movement. There are a number of exercises that the child has to do on a daily basis which the successful candidate would be expected to support with. Ideally, the school is looking for someone who has experience working with children with a similar disability but somebody with the right attitude and a willingness to follow instruction would be considered.

This is a full time position starting in September and running up until the end of the academic year. The opportunity for extension may be possible for the right person!

  • Have recent and relevant experience working with children
  • Be confident supporting a child with severe physical disabilities
  • Be looking to enhance your career in education!
