1-1 SEN Support

Job description

We are currently working with an SEN School in Bournemouth who are looking to recruit a full-time experienced Teaching Assistant, to work on a 1:1 basis with a student with higher needs.

The role is based in KS1 - knowledge of the National Curriculum is desirable. The school are looking for someone with prior experience working in an SEN setting. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or equivalent) is desirable.

Your key duties will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN
  • Supporting student's academic, social and emotional needs
  • Offering feedback and confidently liaising with relevant members of staff regarding pupils progress
  • Excellent use of behaviour management

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Have previously supported children with higher needs
  • Be confident in using effective behaviour management
  • Have Maths and English GCSE A*-C

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
