Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with several specialist units that caters for pupils with challenging behaviour and learning difficulties with immediate work opportunities for teaching assistants in Exeter. I am looking for an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest in supporting young learners who have challenging behaviours and/or additional needs, in class.

You will be responsible for assisting the class teacher and providing one-to-one / group support to students in and out of the classroom setting. Having school based experience is essential for this role.

The ideal applicant will have prior experience working in the classroom and have the ability to support children and teenagers with SEN; in particular those with Autism, Asperger's, Social Emotional & Mental Health or behavioural issues.

These roles may require you to go out on different activities with the children to engage them with different curriculum based learning set out for their individual needs. This requires the candidates to be able to drive with access to their own vehicle.

You are required to drive for this role and have a full DBS check. If you already have a DBS in child workforce that is on the update service then your documents can be processed faster.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
