Are you a Teaching assistant or support worker with your own car? Do you have experience of working with young people or adults with challenging behaviour? Would you be interested in working with young people who need support and encouragement to integrate back into Education or Alternative education provision?
Our client school is an Alternative Education provider catering for Secondary ages and some post-16 with BESD. They require a Special needs experienced staff to work as an Outreach worker for their project in Torbay. The role involves supporting Secondary aged students who need 1:1 support with their academic work and communication issues. You will be providing pastoral and academic support from a provision in Torbay and the use of your own car is necessary for this post.
It is ideal to have:
-Experience where you managed challenging behaviour.
-Teaching assistant experience working 1:1 within a SEN school or a college.
-A genuine interest in helping young people with barriers to learning and communication.
-Ability to foresee, manage and deescalate challenging behaviour within lines of school behaviour policy and report on behaviour changes effectively
This role is fulltime and between school hours. Working hours are 08:30-1530 Monday to Friday.
Location: Torquay/Paignton/Totnes/Brixham/Newton Abbott.

* Have experience of supporting young people with challenging behaviour in any capacity, have your own car and be happy to drive the students with business insurance.
