1:1 MALE Behaviour Support Required ASAP

A school in the Torbay area require a 1:1 MALE behaviour support worker who has experience in SEN or with very challenging behaviour.

Unfortunately, in this case, we can only consider males as this is the professional and health advice given for this particular pupil. The role involves supporting a secondary aged student who requires 1:1 support with their academic work and communication issues. You will be providing pastoral and academic support from a provision in Paignton and the use of your own car or vehicle with business insurance is essential.

It is ideal to have:

-Experience where you managed challenging behaviour.
-Teaching assistant experience working 1:1 within a SEN school or a college or be a strong resilient character that won't be phased by extreme behaviour.
-A genuine interest in helping young people with barriers to learning and communication.
-Ability to foresee, manage and deescalate challenging behaviour within lines of school behaviour policy and report on behaviour changes effectively.

This role is full time and between school hours. Working hours are 08:30-1530 Monday to Friday.


Location: Paignton

* Have experience of supporting young people with challenging behaviour in any capacity, have your own car and be happy to drive the students with business insurance.
* This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
* Your CV must cover the last 6 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained.
* You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
