SEN Teaching Assistant

A Secondary School in the Portsmouth area are looking for TA's to support students on a 1:1 basis through intervention and small group work. You will work alongside 1 student who finds it difficult to participate in whole class teaching and requires additional support to help them achieve their set outcomes.

You must be patient and caring with students yet firm to enable to to achieve their best. Previous experience working with secondary aged children would be advantageous but not necessary. Applicants will be expected to use their initiative and quickly adapt to changing situations.

Currently the role is to work 9.30-12 each morning. An immediate start would be possible providing the completion of safe recruitment checks including holding a DBS certificate registered on the update service. If you do not have one you need to be willing to apply for this.

The successful applicant will have

  • An interest an enthusiasm to work with children
  • Previous care work or childcare experience
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills
  • A flexible and creative approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
