Job description

A full time permanent position commencing as soon as possible for a 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant. This position is full time and permanent so Behaviour Support Assistants with the appropriate skills are encouraged to apply immediately.

The setting is a Secondary Special School in Rochdale. The School currently has 253 pupils enrolled and provides education for pupils with SEN. The School caters for pupils with a range of needs including: pupils with moderate learning difficulties (MLD), severe learning difficulties (SLD) and pupils with profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

The role will involve working in collaboration with a range of professionals including: Teachers, school support staff and professionals from external agencies . It will also involve planning and implementing outreach activities that are designed to encourage the ongoing development of pupils who display signs of challenging behaviour.

The ideal Behaviour Support Assistant will have:

- Team Teach trained (desirable)

- Work within a Specialist Setting

- Work on a 1:1 with a pupil who display signs of challenging behaviour

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
