1:1 ASC Support Assistant

Are you a teaching assistant with the knowledge and experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs?

I am currently working closely with a "Good" school in Ladywell to recruit a highly skilled individual to join their team to support a high functioning Autistic girl in KS1. The school have advised that the child has recently been granted an EHCP to assist her development. The successful candidate must have experience of working with Autistic pupils with a recent background of supporting high functioning ASC pupils desirable.

The school were awarded "Good" by Ofsted in their last inspection (July 2016) and are striving to improve on that rating by providing high quality support to pupils with EHCPs, Additional needs and the highly experienced teaching staff.

This role is full time, 5 days a week 8.30AM to 4PM term time only. The successful candidate can expect to a weekly pay rate of between £300 and £400 dependant on experience. The school are looking to trial and interview candidates before the Christmas holiday with a view to starting in January.

Ideally candidates will have;

  • CACHE level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Child workforce DBS (on the update service) or willingness to apply for one
  • 2 recent references
  • Strong work ethic
  • Confident dealing with sensitive matters
  • Approachable, caring nature
